Lavéra Project Abstract

Lavéra site is located 30 miles west of Marseille, in the south of France. It is one of the largest petrochemicals sites in Europe. The chemicals operations share the site with the INEOS refinery, which is the second largest refinery in France. The Lavéra site operates a variety of chemicals units to deliver over two million tons of chemical products each year. Naphtachimie, a 50:50 joint venture with Total, produces olefins (ethylene, propylene, butadiene) plus benzene, and with Oxochimie produces oxoalcohols (n-butanol, iso-butanol, and 2-ethyl hexanol). On site, polymers products include polyethylene and polypropylene as well as high performance chemicals such as ethylene oxide, glycol ethers, ethanol amines, acetates and ethylene glycol Indopol polybutene. Dresser-Rand Company Ltd. was awarded a contract to supply four reciprocating compressors.
