Nghi Son Project Abstract

Nghi Son Refinery is the second planned oil refinery in Vietnam. Site-clearing for the project broke ground in 2008. Construction began on 23 October 2013, and refinery operations are targeted for 2017. Planned capacity is 200,000 barrels per day (32,000 m3/d), slightly greater than that of Vietnam's first Dung Quat refinery. The refinery project also include petrochemical complex, energy facilities, pipeline and storage systems, and an informatics system. Within this project, GE will supply two 6FA gas turbines. Designed for 50 or 60 Hz applications and featuring strategic configuration options, these units delivers high efficiency, fuel flexibility, availability and reliability, coupled with low emissions and life cycle costs, in a compact layout.
