West Damietta Power Project Phase II Abstract
In a strategic efficiency enhancement initiative that will boost Egypt’s power generation capacity with no extra fuel consumption, GE is providing its advanced D200 steam turbine technology to upgrade the West Damietta Power Plant to generate an additional 250 MW power through combined-cycle operation. The D200 steam turbine will use the waste heat from the existing 4x125 MW 9E Frame gas turbines to generate the 250 MW extra power. This will take the total capacity of the plant from 500 MW to 750 MW, further contributing to helping meet the increasing demand for power in the country.
